Monica Kinyanjui

Founder, Women For Dementia Africa
Monica Kinyanjui is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Women for Dementia Africa (WFDA), a Kenya-based organization dedicated to promoting awareness, dignity, and inclusion for people living with dementia and their caregivers. A graduate of the University of Nairobi with a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology (1990), Monica has spent over 20 years deeply affected by dementia — first through her mother’s illness, which introduced her to the condition, and now as the primary caregiver to her father. These personal experiences have given her a profound understanding of the emotional, social, and economic challenges that dementia brings to families and communities.
