Dr. Mary Nyamongo
Dr. Mary Amuyunzu-Nyamongo is the Chair of the NCD Alliance of Kenya and the co-Chair of the NCD Intersectoral Coordination Committee of the Ministry of Health, Kenya. She is a member of the East Africa NCD Alliance, NCDI Poverty Network; and the Africa CDC NCD Advisory Board. She serves as a member of the Steering Committee of NCD Injuries Poverty Network. Mary is the Founder Director and Technical Adviser of the African Institute for Health and Development (AIHD), an organization based in Nairobi, Kenya that conducts research, training and advocacy on health and development issues. She has published widely in the areas of health and development, focusing on NCDs, HIV/AIDS, gender, youth, mothers and children under-five, neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), rural and urban poverty, and health promotion in general. Mary is an Adjunct Faculty at Strathmore University, Kenya. She holds a PhD (Social Anthropology) from Cambridge University in the UK.
