Kihugwa Ngereso
Kihugwa Ngereso is a distinguished clinical nutritionist with a strong record of advancing nutrition-centered health systems in Kenya. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics (Egerton University) and ongoing postgraduate studies in Medical Dietetics (Masinde Muliro University of Science & Technology). His professional journey reflects a deep commitment to transforming health outcomes through evidence-based nutrition practice and innovative behavior change communication. His work bridges the gap between research, policy, and service delivery, promoting integrated, patient-centered models of care that align with Kenya’s Health Policy (2014–2030) and the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2 & SDG 3).
A passionate advocate for preventive medicine, his expertise spans therapeutic nutrition, non-communicable disease prevention, and the use of digital platforms to enhance dietary adherence and public engagement. He is widely recognized for his thought leadership in strengthening nutrition governance, health communication, and evidence-driven program implementation. He is a member of the national technical working group on Healthy Diets and current chair of the national Overweight and Obesity task force.
