Dr. JP is a medical doctor and a seasoned global health professional with 20 years of experience in Kenya's public health sector, focusing on clinical care, health systems strengthening, and healthcare management. Specializing in non-communicable diseases (NCDs) with a particular emphasis on cancer, she currently leads the development and execution of policies under the National Cancer Control Strategy 2023-2027. She has been instrumental in formulating and implementing national policies and programs, including the National Cancer Screening Guidelines and the Breast Cancer Screening & Early Diagnosis Action Plan, while continually advancing her expertise in health system strengthening and strategic leadership. She holds a Master of Science in Global Health and non-communicable Diseases from the University of Edinburgh.
