Dr. Jemima Hoine Kamano

Endocrinologist | Diabetologist
Dr. Kamano is an Endocrinologist/Diabetologist, senior lecturer and researcher in Moi University School of medicine. She was the first program-lead for the AMPATH Chronic disease management program till 2017 Dec, and has been a lead investigator in several implementation research projects on improved care delivery for Diabetes and hypertension in Kenya with several publications on the same. She is very passionate about increasing access to quality NCD care for all. Through research, she has contributed to the Kenyan National health strategies and policies related to NCD especially in areas touching on CVD, diabetes, and use of the primary care platform in addressing NCDs. She is a member of the expert advisory committee of the UNICEF’s Chronic Lifelong Care Model (CLC), and of several technical working groups in the Kenya NCD ICC.
