Dr. Julliet Auma Omwoha is a Consultant Paediatrician and Head of the Newborn and Child Health Section at Kenya’s Ministry of Health. With over a decade of experience in clinical care, policy development, and program leadership, she is a nationally recognized expert in child and adolescent health. She holds a Master of Medicine in Paediatrics and Child Health from the University of Nairobi, with additional training in Global Adolescent Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and leadership in global health from the University of Washington. Dr. Omwoha leads national efforts to reduce child mortality and improve neonatal outcomes, having developed paediatric care standards, mentorship packages, and Kenya’s first newborn investment case. She previously served as Program Manager for Adolescent Health, coordinating national forums and policy initiatives, and currently advises the WHO Global Action for Measurement of Adolescent Health (GAMA) Advisory Group. A passionate advocate for newborns and children, she partners with schools, NGOs, and community programs to promote child wellbeing. She also champions digital health through her instagram page ‘dimpled_paediatrician’, offering guidance to parents on raising children and adolescents.She is an active member of the Kenya Paediatric Association, WHO FIDES Network, Counselors and Psychologists Board and Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
